“Time Is Now, Yalla!” artist that we love JR.
“Time Is Now, Yalla!” is a huge participatory art project. Four ‘photobooths’ will invite thousands of Israelis and Palestinians to capture and print their own portraits as posters and then exhibit them in the streets.
Time Is Now for those who want better government, which focuses common resources on social justice, freedom, and affordable living.
...
Time Is Now for those who want to influence their destiny and that of their State.
Time Is Now for the silent majority which believes that the solution leading to 2 states for 2 peoples living in peace and security has been there for years and is waiting for implementation
At the TED Conference in March 2011, JR issued a call for a global art initiative called “Inside Out”, inspired by his large format pastings. Since then, “Inside Out” projects have spread all over the world to great effect: in the US, Tunisia, Brazil, Germany, Pakistan, Japan, Uruguay, France, New Zealand, Thailand and even in Iran. See www.youtube.com/watch?v=0PAy1zBtTbw and www.youtube.com/user/TheInsideOutChannel
Following on from the previous projects ‘Face2Face* and ‘Voyageurs en Israël et en Palestine**, ‘Inside Out’ now comes to the Middle East, eager and proud to provide the tools for artistic expression.
This art project is not supported by any brand, private sponsor, political party or NGO. It is totally financed by the sale of artwork and sustained by the energy of volunteers.
We want to show that there is massive support for peace on both sides and that young people want to move forward, to secure their future. Our role is simply to create a positive public visual statement, in both Israel and Palestine …
We will need your presence and your inspiration to make this art project meaningful and powerful.
